Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide students with the tools, knowledge, advisory skills, and management techniques required to implement quality programs, effectively and efficiently in order to best serve Soldiers and Families.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Create strategies that cultivate and sustain a cost culture that optimizes resources and cost-informed decisions in support of the Army's strategic goals and objectives
  • Appraise and evaluate characteristics, programs, and services for the purpose of ensuring they are customer-focused and performance-based
  • Synthesize high performance leadership models and design strategies to employ those principles
  • Analyze laws and interpret plans and regulations governing Installation Management operations to ensure alignment of programs and services

General Topics:

  • Leadership innovation combined with strong execution based on data driven efforts and performance of the Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) Directorate and ultimately the garrison. This course offers a unique opportunity for Directors, FMWR (DFMWR) to take the lead to shape the present and future in implementing the IMCOM Commander's Guidance and to be the touch-point for Soldiers and Families. Students will take a holistic approach to installation management as they create strategies for integration of effort among the garrison directorates. Students will also explore the macro environment (national political, social, and economic trends) and determine the impact on individual installations and FMWR operations
