Description

Objective:

The course objective is for students to recognize and apply financial management processes required to successfully operate a Non-appropriated fund (NAF) program. This course is a practical hands on approach to applying Family and MWR financial management processes to increase student proficiency in interpreting regulations and operating guidance, analyzing income statements, calculating and identifying labor and other operating expenses, and formulating an annual operating budget (AOB).

  • Analyze an income statement and utilize an income statement to determine program operating decisions
  • Interpret historical data for budget applicability
  • Analyze financial reports for conducting daily operations of a non-appropriate-funds organization
  • Interpret financial management protocols and utilize specific guidelines for non-appropriate-funds program operations
  • Interpret non-appropriate-funds variance report and other historical financial reports
