Description

Objective:

The course objective is to build upon the foundations established in pre-algebra and basic mathematics to develop a growing understanding of how to perform operations and solve problems with real numbers. Students will focus on the importance of linear relations by developing fluency with the language and operations of algebra to analyze and represent relationships while performing exercises to demonstrate understanding. Students will learn to graph and solve for a variety of functions, including linear, quadratic, and exponential.

Learning Outcomes:

  • identify parts of an exponential function and compare exponential, linear, and quadratic tables, graphs, and functions
  • analyze a scatter plot to find the line of best fit
  • add, subtract, divide and multiply with real numbers
  • solve equations and inequalities with one variable graph linear functions and inequalities
  • solve systems of equations
  • identify parts of an exponential function and compare exponential, linear, and quadratic tables, graphs, and functions
