Description

Objective:

(Exam Time: 115 mins). The exam is designed to provide students the opportunity to show their achievement in mathematics at the high school equivalency level, college readiness level, and college credit level with the following areas of focus: executing and applying core computations with precision and fluency; and applying both quantitative and algebraic reasoning skills and mathematical practices to a broad range of real-life, workplace, and academic contexts.

Skills Measured:

In addition to the content-based indicators, the GED® mathematics test also focuses on reasoning skills, as embodied by the GED® Mathematical Practices. The mathematical practices framework is based upon two sets of standards: the Standards for Mathematical Practice found in the Career and College Ready Standards for Mathematics; and the Process Standards found in the Principles and Standards for School Mathematics, published by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
