Objective:

The course objective is to provide knowledge of concepts, principles, theories and applications associated with the study of the life span, birth through death.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Recognize the concepts related to the study of life span development
  • Describe the cognitive, biosocial, and psychosocial development of the developing human through the life span
  • Describe and identify issues encountered by the developing human through the life span
  • Identify the conception of death and dying across the life span and in different cultures, and the grieving process, rituals, and customs that accompany death and dying
  • Describe the research methods in the study of and theoretical foundations for life span developmental psychology
  • Identify basic concepts of genetics
