Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide an overview of human anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and various patho-physiological processes and conditions; and to provide an overview interpretation and understanding of the statutes, rules, regulations, and procedures necessary to assist veterans and their families in acquiring appropriate benefits from federal and state agencies.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Describe patho-physiological and neuropsychiatric conditions commonly encountered by veterans seeking benefits
  • Define related medical terms; and employ research methodology necessary to interpret, evaluate, and apply governmental laws, regulations, and court decisions relating to the provisions of benefits
  • Describe the basic structures and functions of the major human body systems
  • Describe the basic structures and functions of the major human body systems
  • Describe patho-physiological and neuropsychiatric conditions commonly encountered by veterans seeking benefits
