Description

Objective:

To present basic computer security skills training to entry-level personnel so that they may successfully perform their duties as Information Systems Security Officers.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Explain the threat to and vulnerabilities of information systems
  • Discuss the history of information systems security laws and policy and their impact on the responsibilities of an information systems security officer and practitioner
  • Employ appropriate security countermeasures and safeguards to manage threats and minimize vulnerabilities
  • Identify required physical, personnel, and procedural security procedures to protect information and the systems on which it is processed
