Description

Objective:

The course objective is for the student to demonstrate how to provide solutions for overcoming issues encountered during the implementation of an SC initiative in a foreign cultural context by leveraging their comprehensive understanding and synthesis of cross cultural consensus building techniques and societal, historical, and security aspects within a specific region.

Learning Outcomes:

  • analyze major regional and transnational security issues, including international organizations, and how those issues influence a given region
  • analyze regional specific cross-cultural considerations to support the implementation of security cooperation initiatives
  • apply the cross-cultural competence concepts and skills to prepare for an intercultural interaction
  • demonstrate integrative knowledge of Geographic Combatant Command priorities and how they relate to and affect regional partners
  • apply culturally informed techniques to negotiate, build consensus, and solve problems together with partner nations of specific regions informed by cultural nuances of individual countries
