Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide a functional knowledge of security assistance/security cooperation.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Conduct a SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunity & threat) analysis of a partner nation's defense posture
  • Conduct a DOTMLPF (doctrine, organization, training, material/equipment, leadership, personnel and facilities/infrastructure) analysis of a partner nation's military
  • Based upon the above analysis, identify which, and how, different security cooperation programs can be used to achieve a specific partnered defense objective
  • Identify and explain the risks to the United States if this plan fails
  • Link the plan developed to current Department of State and Department of Defense goals and objectives for a nation and justify the linkage
  • Identify other U.S. government programs that have been executed in a partner nation or that are currently taking place in a partner nation, that they can build on to achieve the plan and explain how the programs are mutually supporting
