Description

Objective:

The course objective is to understand Joint Petroleum Operations at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels.

Learning Outcomes:

  • List and describe supply chain objectives, relate vital terms and concepts to Bulk Petroleum Operations and identify the purpose of government resources related to Joint Petroleum Operations.
  • Describe early and current uses of petroleum, explain how government agencies influence and support joint operations, and analyze policy documents (strategies and plans) to determine how they relate to Joint Petroleum Operations.
  • Discuss planning in the context of petroleum operations and the Single-Fuel on the Battlefield Construct.
  • Define Joint Bulk Petroleum in terms of standardization, flexibility, and interoperability and identify challenges with each.
  • Define, describe, and differentiate between geographic and functional combatant and component commands.
  • Understand Integrated Material Management and interpret the DoD Single Manager for Global Bulk Fuel Management and Delivery (GBFMD) roles in bulk petroleum operations.
  • Describe the Military Planning and Execution Process as it relates to different levels of contingency.
  • Understand Quality Assurance, Quality Surveillance, Safety, and Environmental practices in Joint Bulk Petroleum Operations.
