Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide entry-level public affairs training for mid- to senior-level non-commissioned officers (NCOs) and commissioned officers from all U.S. Armed Forces and select foreign nations, as well as U.S. government agency civilians selected for public affairs. This course will ensure those NCOs, officers and civilians are capable of performing the basic duties of Department of Defense (DoD) military public affairs practitioners.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Develop and produce communication strategy counsel to command and higher headquarters
  • Identify and evaluate relationships with the command, the community, the media, partners, and stakeholders [influencers] and their impact on mission accomplishment
  • Organize and lead a communication team in accordance with DoD and service policies and tactics, techniques and procedures to achieve commander's desired state
  • Manage communications in steady-state and event-driven scenarios to accomplish missions
  • Construct and apply communication tactics in alignment with the commander's desired state and higher-level guidance
