Description

Objective:

The course objective is to train selected enlisted personnel and civilian employees of DOD components in the principles, techniques and skills required to perform the duties and functions of public affairs specialists.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Explain various aspects of community engagement
  • Explain how the combatant command structure and its operational mission supports U.S. national security goals)
  • Perform digital camera operations
  • Produce a communication product
  • Perform as a public affairs specialist during a Field Training Exercise
  • Perform the duties associated with managing a public affairs office, to include developing a communication plan.
  • Explain the role ethics plays in public affairs
  • Label images using a Visual Information Record Identification Number
  • Write a feature
