Description

Objective:

The course objective is designed to ensure students have the knowledge and understanding of the application of the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) Software Acquisition Management Instruction (SAMI). Specifically, this course aims to connect the major concepts of the DCMA Software Acquisition Management (SAM) mission by focusing on the assessment of software products, processes, and measures. Students should be aware that CME 260 was developed for DCMA and uses DCMA document templates. Class instruction concentrates upon the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS) or common principles which apply across all services.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Learn the importance of properly and safely packaging hazardous material to include the six-step process for the safe packaging of all hazard material
  • Discuss the use of metrics and data collection and analysis (DC&A) to support the surveillance requirements of DCMA-MAN 2303-01, Surveillance
  • Discuss how DCMA manages the Correction Action Process, through Corrective Action Requests (CARs), to help contractors correct documented contractual nonconformances
  • Interpret regulatory guidelines, tool training and DCMA-MAN 2101-01, Acceptance, to perform Product Acceptance actions on behalf of the government
