Learning Outcomes: Assess the current security environment, including the risks and opportunities that attend new processes and technologies Summarize the nature and role of cybersecurity in both providing and protecting information. Evaluate the essential issues involved in sharing and protecting information, including issues of risk, knowledge sharing, and education. Appraise the interrelationships among elements that comprise a modern security system, including hardware, software, policies, and people. Differentiate the functions and types of modern security systems and illustrate them using specific examples. Assess the tradeoffs that security engineers should consider when designing, implementing, and operating balanced security systems.
