Description

Objective:

The course objective is to master the full-stack development languages, frameworks, tools, and technologies to develop job-ready skills valued by employers; write, deploy, and scale cloud-native back-end applications using Node, NoSQL databases, containers, microservices, and serverless; develop websites and front-end software using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React; and employ DevOps practices and Agile methodologies to continuously build and deploy software using CI/CD tools.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Develop and structure interactive web applications using HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript by implementing responsive design, DOM manipulation, and client-side scripting techniques
  • Utilize version control systems (Git and GitHub) to manage code, implement branching and merging workflows, and collaborate effectively in distributed development environments
  • Design and implement dynamic front-end applications using React by applying component-based architecture, state management, hooks, and event-driven programming
  • Develop server-side applications using Node.js and Express, including creating RESTful APIs, handling asynchronous operations, and implementing authentication and session management
  • Integrate and manage data persistence using NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cloudant) by designing schemas, performing CRUD operations, and optimizing data interactions
  • Apply DevOps principles and cloud-native development practices, including CI/CD pipelines, test-driven development, and deployment strategies in cloud environments
  • Build, containerize, and deploy applications using modern tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless platforms, ensuring scalability, portability, and reliability
  • Design and implement microservices-based architectures and serverless solutions, and evaluate their performance, scalability, and suitability for distributed systems
  • Integrate and demonstrate full-stack development competencies by designing, building, testing, and deploying end-to-end applications while communicating technical solutions through portfolios, documentation, and professional artifacts
  • Explain and apply foundational software engineering concepts, including the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and system design principles, to support modern application development
