Description

Objective:

This course is offered through Coursera, which is an ACE Authorized Instructional Platform.

The certificate objective is to equip learners with foundational programming skills using SAS®, one of the most widely used analytics tools in the industry. Students will gain hands-on experience in reading and manipulating data, transforming and combining datasets, creating both detailed and summary reports using SAS procedures, and identifying and correcting data and programming logic errors. These core skills align with the requirements of the SAS® Base Programming Specialist certification exam, preparing learners for professional success in data-focused roles.

Throughout the program, learners engage with practical exercises that mirror real-world data tasks. The capstone course features two applied projects: the first guides students through writing complete programs across all stages of the SAS programming process to analyze passenger claims at U.S. airports. The second project challenges students to apply data preparation techniques by restructuring and analyzing global tourism datasets.

This certificate is ideal for individuals beginning their journey in data analytics or programming, as well as professionals looking to build a solid foundation in SAS for use in data management, reporting, or business analysis roles.
