Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide the student with an understanding of financial computer applications with a primary emphasis on using electronic spreadsheets to solve common business problems. Students are introduced to the popular QuickBooks package and master the use of various transaction types, reports and other features.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Select a suitable accounting package (QuickBooks, other off-the-shelf, or custom)
  • Export reports to a Microsoft excel spreadsheet
  • Explain and change program preferences to meet the needs of varying businesses
  • Identify and correct errors in QuickBooks
  • Perform maintenance activities for QuickBooks
  • Record a variety of transactions and adjustments and prepare various reports using QuickBooks
