Description

Objective:

The course objective is to ensure each student can perform mission critical duties associated with the day-to-day inventory management of Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Energy fuel accounts.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Processing inventory transactions
  • Use of features within the DLA Energy licensed software (FuelsManager® Defense, FuelsManager Defense® Enterprise, Enterprise Business System, External Enterprise Business Portal and various other web based application tools)
  • Locating necessary information on the DLA Energy web page and DLA Energy Training Portal (FuelsTraining®)
  • Understand and be able to perform processing and maintenance of a Defense-Wide Working Capital Fund (DWWCF) fuel inventory account including identifying requirements
  • Placing fuel orders
  • Accounting for the receipt of fuel
  • Correcting errors within the account
  • Reconciliation of inventory

  • And overview of Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Energy - common systems and applications, Integrated Material Management (IMM) goals, and best business practices
  • Brief operating system overview
  • Policy governing 'back-ups' and document retention
  • Base Level Support Application (BLSA) overview - fuels management application(s), inventory management application, custom reports, leak detection, and product movement
  • The following modules within the fuels management software will be covered in detail: Inventory Manager, Personnel and Training, Maintenance and Equipment, Quality Control and Scheduler, and Dispatch
  • DLA Energy policies and instructions
  • Fuels accounting principles and procedures
  • Operate a supply inventory management system to ensure accurate on hand balances and posture of inbound/outbound
