Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide training and practical experience in the fundamental techniques and skills of the coaching profession through instruction, participation and practical experience. Hands-on training provides a powerful introduction to the techniques and skills of co-active coaching. The focus is on participation and practical experience rather than lecture, with numerous opportunities to coach and receive feedback on newly acquired coaching skills.

Learning Outcomes:

  • clarify values, articulate goals, define strategies and plans
  • use the three basic principles of Co-Active coaching: fulfillment, balance, and process
  • use tools such as the life wheel to uncover the areas in the client's life they would like to address
  • use the cornerstones of Co-Active coaching to create an alliance with clients that will help clients find answers to important questions in their lives
  • learn how to construct a powerful question
  • know how to communicate with clients using the five contexts of Co-Active coaching: listening, intuition, curiosity, forwarding the action/deepening the learning and self-management
  • recognize and use the three levels of listening and demonstrate the most often used coaching skills

  • Create a learning environment which encourages experimentation and learning by doing
  • Introduce participants to the basic tool of wheel of life
  • Introduce participants to basic skills of the Co-Active model
  • Introduce participants to our three levels of listening
  • Give participants an experience of intuition and practice
  • Introduce participants to the power of emotions and staying in connection with those emotions for transformation
  • Reinforce the skill of acknowledgement and practice its use
  • Identify fundamental strengths of the coaches and where they might access a different aspect of their being to create transformation and change in clients
  • Create accountability about next steps and the importance of this
