Credit is recommended for examinees scoring "E" or higher on either AS or A Level Exams. This exhibit is being recommended for a total of six semester hours for examinees who complete both the AS and A level exams. For examinees completing the AS level exam only, three semester hours Religious Studies I is recommended.
Description

Objective:

At the AS Level, the Biblical Studies exam consists of two papers covering the Four Gospels (Paper 1) and the Development of Christianity (Paper 2). Each Paper is allowed 1 hour and 30 minutes and is worth 50 points. Paper 1 is composed of three sections of short passage and longer passage questions and a structured question. Paper 2 has two sections, both with structured questions. Students are given a choice of questions to answer from each section.

At the A Level, students take an additional two Papers requiring study of specialist application in the four following areas: the Prophets of the Old Testament, and Christian Understandings of God, Life, & the Universe. Each Paper is allowed 1 hour and 30 minutes and is worth 50 points.

Marks from Papers 1 & 2 are carried forward and combined with Papers 3 & 4 to comprise the complete A Level.

1) Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of specified texts and Christian teachings, beliefs and practices as recorded in the Bible.
2) Analyze, evaluate and discuss evidence, points of view and issues in Christianity.
