Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide the participant with a series of observation and teaching tasks in teaching English to non-native English speakers, with mentor observation, in order to develop a philosophy of reflective practice as an educator.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Observe and reflect on teaching practices of experienced teachers
  • Analyze the concepts found in the reading and viewing, apply these concepts to their teaching, and draw inferences in their writing and task completion regarding best practices in teaching English today
  • Produce a reflective journal through completion of tasks which focuses on the concepts described in class materials
  • Build peer and mentor relationships in the learning community
  • Apply mentor feedback to classroom practices
