Description

Objective:

The course objective is to develop a comprehensive knowledge needed to be able to start a nonprofit. Students will start with conducting an environmental scan, talk about establishing a board of directors, and look more into details of constructing a budget for an organization. Then, students will dive into tax and legal documentation that will be necessary for an organization to apply for nonprofit status. Students will be presented with a SWOT analysis and philanthropic calculation of an organization as a part of its fundraising efforts. In the last module, students will create a marketing strategy for a nonprofit through website and social media presence.
