Description

Objective:

The course objective is to examine the fundamentals of strategic sourcing and supply management; discuss the strategic and operational role of the purchasing/supply function within the organization and between firms; and focus on the issues of developing and implementing a procurement strategy; supplier selection, management, and development; buyer-supplier relationships; global sourcing; negotiations; electronic procurement; cost/price considerations for the purchase of goods and services; and green purchasing and purchasing ethics.

  • Discuss strategy and commodity strategy and how they are developed
  • Identify key performance measures of how purchasing is evaluated
