Objective:

The course objective is to expose students to the fundamental concepts of Business Intelligence (BI).

Learning Outcomes:

  • Discuss the three BI phases, waterfall methodology and proper post deployment activities
  • Compare and contrast the different data warehousing theories
  • Explain how the quality of the data affects the quality of the BI solutions
  • Explain data modeling fundamentals
  • Capture, prioritize and evaluate requirements
  • Determine whether their organization is ready for business intelligence
  • Identify the main considerations when deciding to build or buy a BI solution

  • An introduction to business intelligence, organizing for BI, BI development phases and methods approaches, data warehousing, data quality and architecture, BI requirements gathering, readiness for BI and maturity models, and technology and vendor review
