Description

Objective:

The course objective is to create the skills needed to develop and present a dynamic grant proposal.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Identify the elements of grant writing
  • Define the reasons of having all stakeholders' buy-in concerning the proposed grant proposal
  • Identify why relationship building is critical in obtaining funding from a grant funder
  • Describe the importance of maintaining open communication with funders
  • Examine the necessity of creating grant proposals as a team effort
  • Describe how to build a grant proposal budget
  • Analyze the importance of including an evaluation portion in a grant proposal
  • Describe the importance of follow-through after submission of a grant proposal
  • Identify elements that support a dynamic grant proposal

  • Introduction to creating a successful grant proposal, locating funding sources, developing a dynamic grant proposal, capacity building and performance measurement, the essentials of preparing a grant proposal budget, a private foundation perspective on grant proposals, a community foundation perspective on grant proposals, and the importance of a project/program self-assessment before presenting your grant proposal
