Description

Objective:

The course objective is to instruct students on how to be leaders who can effectively assess the constantly changing environment; mobilize resources to flourish in the nonprofit environment; examine methods to build relationships that maximize the resource base of their programs; understand how to operate as a social entrepreneur; alignment various programs to an organization's mission; and develop, control, and deliver concise and convincing messages to the media and constituents.

  • Articulate the fiscal and organizational underpinnings that make philanthropy core to an organization's mission
  • Identify social entrepreneurship practices and methods
  • Organize and practice concise and convincing messages to the media and constituents

  • Recognize the need to set and implement a vision for a nonprofit organization
  • Understand the relationship between accreditation and requisite practices in relation to the organization
  • Articulate advocacy at the state level and how what we learn can be applied at the federal and local level as well
