Description

Objective:

The course objective is to provide logistics personnel with foundational and basic knowledge of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) based Logistics Information System (LIS) specifically focusing on supply chain and logistics core business areas, business areas and systems integration, terminology, operating concepts and system navigation.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Describe logistics processes to include supply chain and logistics business areas and the use of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) based system to support these areas and processes
  • Define key terms associated with an ERP, LIS, and supply chain and logistics operations
  • Explain supply chain and logistics management activities such as item procurement, customer demand management, reviewing and maintaining logistics data, demand and supply planning and forecasting, and distribution of materials using a logistics information system (LIS)
  • Describe LIS transactions such as running reports to inform demand and supply planning and forecasting, processing requisitions and orders, and reviewing budget stratification
