Description

Objective:

To assess the need for and role of external development in creating increased owner equity, through country, industry, company, and candidate evaluation, selection, approach and negotiation to the implementation/integration phases.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Reasonably value a target company, setting lo/mid/hi values and explain variations
  • Establish a negotiating strategy that covered all meaningful aspects and negotiate with owners
  • Laying out steps, procedures and timing, assuming deal takes places
  • Implement any/all of the above
  • Develop a meaningful business definition in order to do a relevant country, industry, company and candidate evaluation
  • Apply the principles and tactics involved in acquisitions and/or joint ventures
  • Develop a set of acquisition/joint venture criteria (strategies, financial and tactical) to guide the search and screening process
  • Demonstrate the ability to search out legitimate public and private candidates and screen appropriately versus the criteria
  • Articulate what a post acquisition integration plan would look like
