Description

Objective:

The National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) is an assessment-based credential comprised of the Applied Math, Graphic Literacy, and Workplace Documents assessments. Issued at four levels, the NCRC certifies essential skills relevant across industries and to multiple post-secondary pathways. Trusted by employers, the NCRC assessments are also administered statewide to juniors and seniors in over a dozen states, and serve as the basis of state- and county-level workforce and economic development initiatives. Since the launch of the updated NCRC assessments, ACT has issued over 360,000 new credential certificates.An examinee must earn a minimum level score of three on the three ACT NCRC assessments to earn an ACT NCRC. Based on the scores students earn on the assessments, the certificate is awarded at four levels - Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.Platinum: Scores of Level 6 or higher on all three exams Gold: Scores of Level 5 or higher on all three exams Silver: Scores of Level 4 or higher on all three exams Bronze: Scores of Level 3 or higher on all three exams.

Skills Measured:

The NCRC measures the following areas of cognitive skill: Applied Math measures the ability to apply mathematic principles to math-related problems encountered in the workplace. Applied Math is a separate assessment containing 31 scored items and constitutes one-third of the NCRC program; Graphic Literacy measures the ability to find, interpret, analyze, and apply information presented in workplace graphics. Graphic Literacy is a separate assessment containing 32 scored items and constitutes one-third of the NCRC program; Workplace Documents measures the ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply written information presented in workplace documents. Workplace Documents is a separate assessment containing 30 scored items and constitutes one-third of the NCRC program.
