Collaboration Between K-12 and Higher Education Institutions
In December 2003, the American Council on Education conducted a sample research study to identify collaborations between higher education institutions and K-12 schools/school districts pertaining to internationalization initiatives. This is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all such programs, but a guide for individuals thinking about how to help K-12 schools teach their students about the rest of the world and sources of possible funding to help them achieve this goal.
This project was sponsored in part by the Longview Foundation for Education in World Affairs and International Understanding, Inc., founded in 1966 to help elementary and secondary students, teachers, and teacher educators in the United States develop the knowledge, attitudes, values, and skills for responsible citizenship in a complex, interdependent world. Elizabeth K. Eder, Ph.D., compiled the database.
