This toolkit is designed to be a portal for resources for administrators, faculty, and students, based on information gathered from the past three rounds of Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Faculty Career Flexibility, and from ongoing work ACE has done with various partners across the country.
Resources for Administrators
Resources for Administrators synthesizes the best practices distributed throughout the Alfred P. Sloan Award winning campuses. This section of the Toolkit looks at four broad themes: creating flexibility, implementing flexibility, evaluating flexibility, and sustaining flexibility. Topics include assessment, training of gatekeepers, creating campaigns and collateral materials, and measuring and rewarding usage.
Resources by Institutional Type
The Resources by Institutional Type section of the Toolkit synthesizes trends and common policies for research universities, master's large institutions, and liberal arts colleges which comprise the Alfred P. Sloan Award winning campuses. The "Common Policies" pages look at the institutional supports for various flexibility needs, and the climate that supports those initiatives. Percentages of policyholders are given so that researchers and administrators can gauge where they stand on these issues.
