Although women earn the majority of postsecondary degrees, they occupy just 26 percent of all college presidencies, according to recent data from ACE. To coordinate efforts to bridge that gap, ACE’s Inclusive Excellence Group last month convened Working Together to Move the Needle: Advancing Women in Higher Education Leadership.

ACE this evening honored Susan L. Perry, a pioneer in the integration of computing and library services, with the 2011 Donna Shavlik Award in recognition of her lifelong commitment to advancing women’s issues in higher education. The award was presented during the Women’s Leadership Dinner hosted by ACE’s Office of Women in Higher Education (OWHE) as part of the ACE Annual Meeting currently underway at the Washington Hilton.
