Letter of Support for House Bill to Extend Perkins Loan Program

Letter to Reps. Mike Bishop (R-MI) and Mark Pocan (D-WI) of the House Education and the Workforce Committee in support of their bill to extend the Perkins Loan Program through October 2016. The program will expire on Oct. 1 barring Congressional action. 

Perkins loans currently provide half a million students $1.2 billion in loans every year across 1,500 institutions and have many advantages, such as having lower interest rates and a 9-month grace period before repayment begins. The loans are targeted at students with exceptional financial need.
