Get the Scoop on What’s Ahead for Higher Education Policy at ACE2019
October 01, 2018

As a new Congress begins work next year, ACE2019 will offer valuable opportunities for campus leaders to learn what to expect from policymakers on topics such as Title IX, immigration, federal regulations, and budget and appropriations.

Among the public policy-focused sessions at ACE2019, ACE’s 101st Annual Meeting set for March 9-12 in Philadelphia, will be ACE Senior Vice President Terry W. Hartle’s federal relations update, a comprehensive and always highly attended overview of higher education policy.

Higher education-related matters have been front and center in Washington over the past two years—from President Trump’s travel ban and the decision to rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy to looming new Title IX campus sexual assault regulations and moves by Congress to increase funding for student financial aid and biomedical research despite Trump administration proposed budget cuts.

Whether those or other issues are at the top of the agenda in March, Hartle will detail the current status of all the important topics affecting higher education at the federal level.

ACE2019 is the country’s most distinguished higher education event, attracting nearly 2,000 leaders from presidents to deans and representing all institutional types. Attendees will gain knowledge about practical solutions for many of the challenges higher education faces today, network with leaders from across all institutional types, and be inspired by the achievements of colleagues and the insights of a diverse slate of speakers.
