Nominations are open until Friday, Dec. 7, for two ACE honors: the Adult Learner of the Year Award and the State Network Leadership Award. The winners of both will be recognized at ACE’s 95th Annual Meeting, Leading Change, to be held in Washington, DC, March 2-5, 2013.
Adult Learner of the Year
ACE’s Adult Learner of the Year Award recognizes a person who has benefited academically and professionally from making use of ACE credit recommendations for workforce or military training.
Among the qualities that award winners demonstrate are continued success in academic, professional, personal and community endeavors; extraordinary achievement in their community or workplace while successfully balancing the demands of family, career and education; and inspiring others to set high lifelong learning goals.
Nominations can be submitted on ACE’s website.
State Network Leadership
ACE’s 2013 State Network Leadership Award will honor an outstanding women's network or college/university program for its innovative and visionary contributions to the advancement of women in higher education.
Last year’s winner, the Asilomar Leadership Skills Seminar of the Community College League of California, was honored for its work to increase the number of women in senior leadership positions in California’s community colleges, which grew from seven in 1984 to 40 today.
