College Board Releases Guide to Upcoming Supreme Court Decision in Fisher v. UT

May 13, 2013

In preparation for the Supreme Court's upcoming decision in Fisher v. University of Texas at Austin (UT), the College Board's Access and Diversity Collaborative has released the guide, Preparing for the Fisher Decision: Are You Ready?

This document provides a brief introduction to the case, identifies areas for action (both now and on the day the ruling is released), and offers support to help institutions and organizations craft statements regarding the decision.

This case presents a challenge to consideration of race and ethnicity in college admissions and is of intense interest to the higher education community. ACE filed a brief on behalf of UT, which can be read here along with other material on this case and the last Supreme Court cases dealing with this issue, Grutter v. Bollinger and Gratz v. Bollinger in 2003.

To speak with an ACE expert about the upcoming decision, email ACE Assistant Vice President Erin Hennessy at ehennessy@acenet.edu.
