Common Core

Common Core

  • The Common Core State Standards is a national initiative bringing into alignment a set of K–12 standards in the foundational subjects of English and language arts and mathematics. Sponsored by state governors and chief state school officers, the Common Core aims to elevate high school graduates’ readiness for postsecondary education and improve their job prospects. To date, nearly all fifty states and U.S. territories have adopted the initiative.
