Over the past 3 decades, diversity has become an absolute imperative in higher education. However, engaging in the work of diversity can still be quite challenging. In light of this, we are were pleased to present a webinar designed to provide campus leaders with both practical understanding and insights on how to effectively engage in the work of diversity from a strategic perspective.
During this webinar, speakers discussed how higher education leaders can develop a more strategic approach to diversity, equity and inclusion efforts on their campuses.
“The diversity we seek and the future of the nation do require that colleges and universities continue to be able to reach out and make a conscious effort to build healthy and diverse learning environments that are appropriate for their missions. The success of higher education and the strength of our democracy depend on it.”
-- ACE Board of Directors, On the Importance of Diversity in Higher Education, June 2012
The ideas presented during this webinar were discussed in ACE’s issue brief on strategic diversity leadership, part of ACE’s Diversity Matters in U.S. Higher Education series. All webinar participants received a complimentary PDF copy of the issue brief after its release.
