ACE Leadership Academy for Department Chairs

Thank you for your interest in the ACE Leadership Academy for Department Chairs. This 2-day workshop focuses on the chair, not only as a unit leader, but also as an academic leader in service to the institution and its mission. Academy participants will engage in case studies, table-top discussions, problem-solving exercises, role play exercises, and simulations on key leadership issues, department success, and contribution to the larger mission of the institution.

Program Book Materials

Each participant will receive access to a digital program book containing information for program participants and presenters. If you would like for your Twitter handle and LinkedIn profile included in our digital program book, please complete the form at the following link: Department Chairs Social Media Contact Information.

Fees

Early Bird: ACE Member Institution: $1,000  | Non-ACE Member Institution: $1,250

General Registration: ACE Member Institution: $1,050 | Non-ACE Member Institution: $1,300

Check your institution's membership status via the ACE Members & Associates Directory.

Fees include breakfast, lunch, and materials. Registered attendees are responsible for their hotel and travel expenses – exclusive discounted hotel rates available.

Team discounts are available for multiple registrations from the same institution. After the first participant registers at full price, each additional registrant from the same institution qualifies for a $50 discount. To receive the discount, contact Connie Banks at cbanks@acenet.edu to arrange payment at the discounted rate.

Payment and Cancellations Policies

Full payment must be received prior to start of the program to confirm registration. ACE accepts the following payment options:

  • Credit Card - American Express, Visa, Discover, or MasterCard accepted. Participants can pay during registration or call 202-939-9376 to have payment processed by phone.
  • Check - Make payable to American Council on Education. Mail both check and registration receipt to:

Preliminary Schedule

The following is the preliminary schedule for the convening. A more detailed agenda will be included in the digital program book that will be emailed to all participants before the meeting.

Participants are responsible for their hotel and travel expenses. The discounted rate for program attendees is $149.00/night and is valid 3 days before and 3 days after the program.  Register for the program prior to reserving the room. For additional logistics details, including the hotel reservation link, please read the hotel and travel document.
