Among Congress, state legislatures, educational institutions, national corporations and local employers, pressure is mounting to increase the number of Americans who possess a postsecondary degree or credential.
To help meet this growing national demand, ACE's Center for Lifelong Learning supports and promotes policies and practices that encourage adults to successfully pursue and complete postsecondary credentials. Through its Military Evaluations Program and College Credit Recommendation Service (ACE CREDIT®), ACE provides academic credit recommendations for extra-institutional learning.
Presented by ACE staff and regional liaisons—seasoned college faculty who are subject area experts—this webinar provided an overview of credit for prior learning and a framework to build greater awareness, acceptance and application of ACE credit recommendations and other assessment options within and across institutions and state systems.
An ACE credit recommendation represents college-level equivalencies based on a review of workforce training, military training or occupations, and other sources of learning outside the college classroom, such as national exams and certifications. Additional information about the ACE review process is available online.
