As American higher education institutions struggle with issues of shrinking budgets, productivity and more, they must also stay connected to the international community. Around the world, countries like China are making great strides in developing their own higher education systems. For American institutions, developing knowledge and awareness of the global community is critical.
To help institutions develop this expertise, ACE's Center for Internationalization and Global Engagement hosted a webinar that discussed higher education in China and its implications for institutions around the world.
Presented in partnership with the Boston College Center for International Higher Education, this webinar was part of International Briefs for Higher Education Leaders, a series designed specifically to help senior leadership develop knowledge about key issues in international higher education.
Accompanying the webinar is a printed (PDF) brief that includes 10 articles on China's higher education system and issues surrounding partnerships with Chinese institutions. Written by experts based in China and the United States, these articles cover key aspects of the higher education landscape, including trends in national policy, the growth of foreign campuses in China and the challenges of integrating Chinese students into American institutions. Download the printed brief (PDF) 1 MB.
The International Briefs for Higher Education Leaders series included two releases in 2012: This event and "Global Engagement: New Modalities," which was held on November 28, 2012. Participants may purchase the archived versions of these events individually or as a bundle. For information on the bundle option, please contact cige@acenet.edu.
