​Thank you for your interest in the Advancing to the Presidency 2-day workshop. Becoming a college or university CEO requires a keen understanding of oneself and the search process and a solid game plan for transition into the position. Designed specifically for senior administrators (typically Dean level or above) who will be seeking a presidency within the next 2 years.

Payment and Cancellation Policies

ACE Member Institution: $2,600    |     Non-ACE Member Institution: $3,300 

Check your institution's membership status via the ACE Members & Associates Directory.

Full payment must be received by March 24, 2018 to confirm participation.

Fees are due after acceptance into the workshop; includes breakfast, lunch, and materials. Participants are responsible for their hotel and travel expenses – exclusive discounted hotel rates available.

ACE accepts the following payment options:

  • Credit Card - American Express, Visa, Discover, or MasterCard accepted. Log into ATP April 2018 account to complete payment process. Or, call 202-939-9376 to have payment processed by phone.

  • Check - Payable to American Council on Education and indicate applicants name on check. Mail check and invoice (if applicable) to:

Note: Purchase orders are not accepted as payment. To request an invoice, email purchase order to


  • February 22, 2018 Cancellation requests submitted to by COB will receive a refund minus a $200 cancellation fee.

  • April 2, 2018 Cancellation requests submitted to by COB are eligible for a 50% refund.

  • After April 2, 2018– Cancellation requests submitted to by COB are not eligible for refund. 



 Scholarships Available


Limited partial scholarships are awarded to defray the cost of the program fee for those who would not otherwise be able to attend. You must complete both program application and scholarship application to be considered.

Applicants are advised to submit their program fee after scholarship awards have been announced on March 5, 2018.

Complete the ACE Leadership Scholarship Application by February 23, 2018, to be considered.

These scholarships are to enable a select group of candidates from all sectors of higher education to participate in ACE’s signature leadership development programs. The Fidelity Investments scholarships are tied to ACE’s broader leadership development initiative designed to advance women and persons of color into the presidency and other leadership roles. Preference will be given to candidates from under- represented populations within higher education’s senior leadership ranks and to those candidates whose institutions lack the necessary resources to cover program attendance costs.
