ACE Institute for New Presidents

 Summary

 

​Thank you for your interests in the ACE Institute for New Presidents. This program is designed for presidents within their first three years of service. It identifies topics and issues of immediate concern to new presidents and provide the means to address them. The two convening's are highly participatory, incorporating interactive panels with experienced presidents and other experts, mini-case studies presented by program participants, conversations with peers from a range of institutions, and briefings by national experts. Sessions are facilitated by experienced and highly successful presidents and thought leaders. Our goal is to identify topics and issues of immediate concern to new presidents and provide the means to address them.

Presidents within their first three years of service.

Registration Fees

​ACE Member Institution: $5,000    |    Non-ACE Member Institution: $6,000

Registration includes breakfast, lunch, and materials. Participants are responsible for their hotel and travel expenses - discounted hotel rates available. Visit the Location tab above for details.   

Payment and Cancellation Policies

Full payment must be received prior to the start of the program to confirm registration. ACE accepts the following payment options:

  • Credit Card - All major credit cards are accepted. Call 202-939-9376 to have payment processed by phone.
  • Check - Mail both check and registration receipt to:

Note: A purchase order is accepted only as proof of a pending payment. To request an invoice, email both the purchase order and registration receipt to ACELeadership@acenet.edu.

Program

Program Content

The Institute provides new presidents with:

  • Insights and lessons about the leadership challenges faced by new presidents.

  • Knowledge and skills for dealings with high-visibility, high-exposure, and unexpected challenges and opportunities.

  • Practical advice on working effectively with the media.

  • Increased understanding of how to assess and manage campus culture and change processes.

  • Practical advice on how to form and manage a highly effective executive team.

  • An extended professional network of fellow presidents from a cross-section of institutions.

This workshop is held during the ACE2017 99th Annual Meeting.

Room Rate

Participants are responsible for their hotel and travel expenses. Register for the program prior to reserving the room. The discounted rate for registered attendees is $259* – deadline to reserve a room is February 10, 2017. Please review the Hotel and Travel (PDF) 1 MB document for details.
