Congratulations on taking one of the most important steps of your life—earning your GED credential!

Millions of people like you have taken the GED Tests to get a better job, continue their education, or fulfill their personal aspirations. This web site will help you understand the steps to take to prepare, take and pass the GED Tests.

GED Tests Cannot Be Taken Online

We want your path to a GED credential to be as satisfying and rewarding as possible. So before you get started, we must remind you that the official GED Tests cannot be taken online; beware of web sites and other sources that tell you otherwise.

You can take the GED Tests almost anywhere in the United States and Canada and internationally at any of the 3,400 Official GED Testing Centers, but you cannot earn a GED credential (sometimes called a diploma or certificate) on the Internet.

New 2012 Series GED Tests & Testing Deadlines

Anyone currently testing or planning to test before the release of the next test series on January 1, 2012 MUST complete and pass the entire test battery before December 31, 2011. Those who do not complete and meet the minimum passing standards in the 2002 series before this date will need to complete and pass all areas in the 2012 Series GED Tests.

The 2012 Series GED Tests are an updated version of the GED Tests based on knowledge and skills of today's high school seniors. GED test-takers cannot combine scores received on the 2002 Tests Series with the 2012 Test Series. For more information about this change, email ged@ace.nche.edu or contact your local testing center.
