Internationalization Collaborative Advisory Council

The ACE Internationalization Collaborative Advisory Council serves as the voice of Collaborative members to communicate their thoughts and wishes to the American Council on Education. Specifically, the Council advises ACE in making the activities of the Collaborative relevant and useful in realizing the Collaborative's unique mission to provide guidance and insight to its members and to others regarding the process of comprehensive internationalization in colleges and universities. The Council suggests possible general themes and specific topics for annual and regional meetings, including, where appropriate, ideas for speakers, panels, workshops, etc. It also proposes methods for promoting additional collaboration between member institutions and for disseminating information on the Collaborative's work in furthering institutional internationalization.

The Council membership reflects the membership of the Collaborative with representatives from each institutional type. Council members serve staggered terms of three years, with the option of renewal for one term. Council members shall serve no more than two terms. The Council is convened twice each year by a chair nominated by the Council, once during the Annual Meeting of the Internationalization Collaborative (held in the Spring semester) and again in the fall. Members of the Collaborative contact Council members (either through one of their institutional-type representatives or through any other Council member, including its ex officio member from ACE) to suggest items for the Council's agenda and to indicate issues or concerns that they would like the Council to address.
