Taking full advantage of the Indianapolis location, the 2012 Council of Fellows Weekend will bring leaders of major organizations and innovative colleges and universities in the area to join with ACE Fellows in a robust conversation about how to lead our institutions effectively in tough times. Please join with former and current ACE Fellows and a range of thought leaders in higher education to share ideas, learn from one another, renew old connections and build new ones.

A Special Council of Fellows Pre-Workshop: The Do's and Don'ts of Search: Expert Advice and Insights from Search Consultant Professionals
As ACE Fellows, we have all experienced and participated in various searches on campus. However, when it comes time to being in a search, emotion and logic sometimes collide. This workshop is designed to learn the search process from the Search Consultants point-of-view and give ACE Fellows an opportunity to engage in dialogue with five highly respected search consultants who deeply understand ACE Fellows. They will discuss different and sometimes unique strategies for success with topics to include (but not limited to) the search process, cover letters, interviews, attire, and stories you just can't make up!

Expert Search Consultants will include:

Workshop facilitated by Chris Cavanaugh (2004–05 ACE Fellow), President, Pathseekers II, Inc.

Reflections on the Presidency: A Conversation with Carol A. Cartwright (Scholars Hall)
  • Carol A. Cartwright served for 15 years as the president of Kent State University and stepped down last year after a three-year term as president of Bowling Green State University. A frequent nominator and host of fellows, she was the recipient of the 2007 ACE Council of Fellows Mentor's Award.
