Through observation and participation in higher education
administration at the top level, ACE Fellows experience:
An effective learning process in educational leadership,
administrative organization, and change strategies.
Relationships among different levels of administrative officers.
Decision making at various levels.
Relationships between the president (and other senior
administrators) and the governing board, legislature, business and
industry, K–12 community, and the public.
Work On Site
When Fellows work on site at their host campuses, they pursue various
projects that coincide with their own interests as well as those of
their home and host institutions. The host institutions also keep the
Fellows informed of issues and projects on their institutional
agendas.
Some projects that Fellows have undertaken in recent years have
included:
As a result of the ACE Fellows Program, I went from a small private
college in the smallest state in the union to a complex state
institution and a year hearing from the best and the brightest in the
field... From 'e-mail clueless' to technology roundtable leader... From
dismantling every point I made to believing in myself as a leader...
From the day-to-day minutiae to the big picture... From avoiding to
embracing challenges... From seeing 'as through a glass, darkly' to
clarity.
