Program Goals, Format, and Materials

This workshop is SOLD OUT.  Registrations are being accepted on a wait list only.  This workshop will be held again in July 2007.

High on most chairs' list of stressors is conflict.  Poorly handled, conflict can end up creating a dysfunctional department or an institution plagued with legal suits.

The goal of this special in-depth workshop is to give participants the opportunity to work with three professionals, working from different perspectives to build their skills as conflict managers.  The presenters will look at anticipating situations that may cause conflict.  They will suggest approaches for analyzing the basis of conflict, and they will present approaches for taking action to manage conflict.

There will be opportunities for small group work where participants may experiment and reflect on the conflict situations with which they are faced.

The presenter team will be on site throughout the workshop and will be available for consultation as small groups work on their projects.

The workshop fee covers the opening and closing dinners, breakfast and lunch each day, breaks and materials.  Registrants are responsible for their travel and accommodations and dinner on Wednesday evening.
