Common Core State Standards Webinar: What Are They and What Could
They Mean To You?

On May 3, 2010, the ACE Center for Policy Analysis, in partnership
with Achieve, hosted a free webinar for the higher education community:
The Common Core State Standards—What Are They and What Could
They Mean To You?
Three distinguished speakers (listed below) provided an overview of
the Common Core State Standards, its origins and importance, and its
potential implications for higher education. About 400 participants from
various states and regions tuned into the one-and-half-hour-long
webinar. Participants include four-year and two-year campus senior
leaders, faculty, administrators, students, the State Higher Education
Executive Officers (SHEEOs), national and regional higher education
associations, nonprofit think tank groups, and testing companies.
We at ACE would like to thank all attendees for their participation
in the webinar as well as their feedback sent through the evaluation
survey. We appreciate the patience and understanding of the many
attendees who sent us their questions and comments during the session,
but due to time limits we could not answer all of their questions.
For those who were unable to join the webinar or wish to access a
