December 8–9, 2008 in Washington DC
This second meeting in a series offers an opportunity for K–12 and higher education leaders in the 14 states collaborating on this new assessment to discuss early results on the exam, and implications for policy, instruction and college placement. If you are from one of these states (AR, AZ, HI, IN, KY, MD, MA, MN, NC, NJ, OH, PA, RI, and WA) and are interested in learning more about this meeting, please contact the Center for Policy Analysis at (202) 939-9551 or policy@ace.nche.edu.

Introduction

America can only restore value to the high school diploma if higher education works closely with secondary education to clearly define standards for college readiness and translate those standards into curricula and assessments that are broadly adopted and recognized by high schools and colleges.

To advance this agenda, ACE is partnering with a leading organization dedicated to improving college readiness, Achieve Inc., as well as State Higher Education Executive Officers (SHEEO) and the National Association of System Heads (NASH).

This project is designed to help states define and enforce high school standards that prepare students to succeed in college and the workplace. Our goal is to raise awareness and spur increased engagement among college presidents and other senior campus leaders through meetings and publications over the course of two years, targeting leaders in the 33 American Diploma Project (ADP) Network states.
